AFM: IFC Films and Shudder to release ‘Late Night With the Devil’ in North America, UK and Ireland

IFC Films and Shudder have snapped up the rights to the horror thriller AFM Late night with the deviltaking the film to North America, the United Kingdom, and Ireland in a deal with Cinetic Media.

IFC said it plans to release the film exclusively in theaters, with a subsequent streaming window on Shudder.

Directed by Australian filmmaker brothers Cameron and Colin Cairns (100 bloody acres, Intimidation campaign), Late at night with the devil Evoking the spirit and style of 70s horror classics such as… And exorcist And Rosemary’s baby. It tells the story of charismatic but ratings-challenged late-night talk show host Jack Delroy (Suicide squad star David Dastmalchian), who holds a satanic seance on live television and unexpectedly unleashes evil into the nation’s living rooms.

The film premiered at SXSW and toured fantasy festivals, winning Best Screenplay at the Sitges Film Festival and several awards at Toronto After Dark, including Best Feature Film and Best Lead Performance for Dastmalchian.

The IFC/Shudder deal was negotiated by Cinetic Media on behalf of the filmmakers, Emily Goto and Adam Kohler on behalf of both companies. Stuart Ford’s AGC is handling international sales for the film, and held a special screening on Halloween night for buyers at AFM.
