Thanks to some images that came out recently, fans can see what Channing Tatum’s gambit in the previously canceled Marvel Fox movie might have looked like.
Gambit has always been a character that fans have wanted to see play a major role on screens. However, in all the years that Fox has owned the property, the card-tossing mutant has only appeared once as played by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
But that didn’t stop Changing Tatum from actively campaigning for the role while wearing his love for the character on his sleeve. Multiple scripts were written for Project Gambit throughout the mid-to-late 2010s, which included mutants-filled New Orleans where the high-powered people had no interest in anything other than partying and hooking up.
While the spinoff movie was canceled a while ago, a new look at what could have been has emerged.
A new look at Channing Tatum’s gambit
Senior illustrator and storyboard artist Anthony Wynn shared some storyboard frames on Channing Tatum’s ArtStation maneuver A movie that never existed before, and the art now only circulates online among fan circles.
The first image shows Manawer sitting alone on the back of a truck next to what may be his home – a very small house at the time.

There’s clearly some introspection going on when a bottle of bourbon starts to get active.

Upon guessing, Tatum’s lead character gets mad about something. A frustrating memory of some kind?

With the bourbon bottle activated and its rage through the ceiling, Gambit cuts through the exploding glass in the distance.

When will fans see Gambit?
So will fans see any form of Channing Tatum’s card-slinging mutant?
Well, this is more possible than one might think. Why? we will, Deadpool 3Definitely.
Giving Tatum’s Gambit some screen time in the next three quel seems like something Ryan Reynolds would do, especially if the plot involves Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through different timelines – something that seems almost certain thanks to comments from Hugh Jackman and rumors of TVA involvement.
However, the actor probably won’t be in the last role – this doesn’t always include the potential Avengers: Secret Wars.
Since Gambit hasn’t really been explored on screen, it’s possible that he will be one of the first major mutants Marvel Studios adapts into the MCU, and perhaps Tatum could be the one to bring the character to life, finally fulfilling his wish. Unfortunately, that future may be very far away.
Deadpool 3 In theaters November 8, 2024.
