Ray Drummond sends youngest son, Todd, to college in South Dakota: “Go Yotes!”

Ray Drummond’s youngest son, Todd, flies away from the nest.

The leading woman The creator, 53, saw her son at the University of South Dakota over the weekend, where he’ll be continuing his football career with the Coyotes.

In a post shared to her Instagram Story, Drummond took a selfie in a car, where Todd can be seen behind her in a University of South Dakota red T-shirt.

“I successfully accessed SD yesterday,” she wrote with the snapshot. “Go Yots! (Go To Todd).”

On her blog, Drummond recalled how her son committed to college after only one day visiting campus.

He was immediately impressed with the coaching staff and athletic facilities, she said, and on the way home he “couldn’t stop raving about the school and the football program.” Then Todd throws an autograph party on December 21st while the family is on vacation in Vail.

Over the years, she has complimented her son on social media for his hard work in sports.

In 2021, she wrote an “appreciative post” to celebrate the end of his football season and shared a gallery of photos of him playing on the field on her Instagram.

“His older brother was QB for three full years, so this was Todd’s first season in the starting spot,” Drummond wrote in the post. “He got in there and he worked…and he worked…and he worked…and he ended up throwing for over 3,600 yards and 50 touchdowns.”

She added, “I’m not getting into it to show off, but instead to show this kid’s heart for soccer and the dedication he’s showing every day (and especially Friday nights) this fall.” “I couldn’t be more proud of my youngest son.”

Although the Food Network star said she was excited that her son is embarking on a new journey in college, she said it was also bittersweet.

“What I’m thinking about is how I’m going to deal with Todd who is no longer in our house on a daily basis,” she wrote on her blog at the time. “(Oops… I’m crying as I write this. Stop it, Rey!) I love baby so much, and man oh man, am I going to feel left out!”

Drummond later poked fun at how that absence felt in a short Instagram clip of her husband Ladd Drummond jokingly pressing her ribs in the days leading up to Todd’s first day of college on January 1.

“We are seven days away from an empty nest, is this what it will be like?” , she captioned the video on Instagram.

Drummond has been preparing for an empty nest for just over a month. In early December, she wrote on social media, “Ladd and I are actively trying to create new activities together as the empty nest approaches. So we’re taking evening walks now!”

Todd is the last of the five Drummond children to leave college. Her daughters Alex, 25, and Paige, 23, have already graduated and moved on to their careers, while son Bryce, 20, and son Jamar, 20, still attend and play soccer.
