Actress and singer Hayley Duff, who has spent most of her life in Hollywood, decided during the pandemic that she would move her family to her home state of Texas.
The star spoke with Fox News Digital about why she decided to pick up her family and go back to her roots.
“Well, I grew up in Texas,” she said. “Texas is my home. And so, I always imagined I would go back to Texas and raise our family here and things like that.
“And we probably imagined it because our girls were going to middle school or that age,” explained the soon-to-be mother of three. “But when the pandemic happened, we [she and husband Matt Rosenberg] We just looked at each other, and we were like, “Should we? Should we get more space and a little fresh air?”

Hailey expressed her initial fears of leaving Los Angeles behind and focused on her career as an actress.
“I think a lot of my fear of getting out of L.A. was that my career was there and that I would never work again or something,” she said. “And, you know, I think all of this taught us that Zoom can definitely be a very powerful tool. And we can, you know, fortunately for me, continue to work from here, and I will live near my father, who I haven’t lived here (near) my father in a while. Really long.
“So there’s a lot of family here that I can spend time with now that I haven’t done before. And we love it. We’ve made great friends here, and we’ve really come to a great place here.”
What is the biggest difference between Los Angeles and Austin? Traffic is a “big difference,” Hailey says.
“We have to deal with all of those visits, even though Austin gets a lot of traffic with a lot of people coming in here now. But, you know, I think our quality of life has changed a little bit,” she said.

“Our kids, we were like looking at them on Sunday. We were like, ‘What do you guys want to do?'” And they were like, ‘I don’t know, what are you guys going to do?’ And we ended up packing our suitcase and going to Barton Springs and taking our kids swimming in the river there.
“And you know, we go out a lot, I think, here, and we venture a little bit more here.”
As for balancing a Hollywood career while living in the Lone Star State, Hayley says she’s simply “grateful.”
“I am so grateful that the job opportunities still exist for me,” she said. “And I’m also a big believer that God is with you. And so you have to make the right decision for your family, and he’s got it.”
Hailey, best known for her roles as Sandy Jameson in the hit TV series “7th Heaven” and Amy Sanders in “Lizzie McGuire,” is reprising her role as Elizabeth Decker in her new movie The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact. . “
“It’s so amazing that a performer would do a sequel to a movie like this, you know?” She told Fox News Digital.
“I feel like most of the sequels are for movies like the big Marvel movies or something like, you know, the big action movies. So to be able to follow these character stories is really special. And you know, the first movie ends in that kind of always happy moment where it kicks in in her new fictional life. Then the second movie captures her years later in the worst situation you can imagine.”

Hayley hopes the film will convey a message to be kinder and more forgiving. In the movie, Elizabeth, the husband of Hayley’s character, dies. Elizabeth now faces uncertainty as she faces a lawsuit that threatens to take her child away.
““I think … he finds kindness to each other, tolerance to each other, acceptance of each other, each other’s differences,” Hailey said.
Hayley said being a mother was “one of the things” she was “able to bring into this character a little bit”.

“When you’re faced with difficult things or difficult things, you really don’t have a choice,” she continued. “Only you, you’re going to pass on them, and you’ll have to find out, and you have two little guys who, you know, have their eyes on you at all times.
“Thus, you end up finding strength in ways you didn’t know before. And there’s something very useful about that, for sure. “
Hailey is also the older sister of actress Hilary Duff, who recently appeared nude on the cover of Women’s Health magazine. Hayley shared that her sister “looks beautiful”.
“There are a lot of other ideas about it,” Hailey said. “But, you know, she’s a pretty girl.” “I just hope my dad doesn’t walk past newsstands.”
