Not all iPhone wall adapters and charging cables are built the same. It goes without saying, but the default charging cable Apple usually bundles with its products is the best bet for safely charging your phone and ensuring the longevity of your iPhone’s battery life.
But of course, Apple products are, well, pricey, and several over brands offer their own alternatives to first-party products at a cheaper price, though sometimes at the expense of damaging battery life. To ensure your iPhone will extend beyond future Apple generations, look for products that are MFi-certified, or Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad. MFi accessories and devices must undergo multiple tests and pass a quality assurance inspection from Apple itself in order to carry that badge. If MFi is on a product’s box, it’s been verified by Apple as safe and reliable.
This rule also applies to wireless charging via MagSafe. MagSafe chargers, which magnetically charge your iPhone, emit up to 15 watts of charging power.
