This morning, Sunday, Mohamed Laqab, Minister of Communications, received at the Ministry’s headquarters, Ali Hudhayfi, President and Director General of the MBC Complex, accompanied by: Sam Bernat, Executive Director of the channel, and Ali Jaber, Abdel Ghani Wa Aly, and Mohamed Omar Dhahabi, directors of the same complex.
In his speech, the channel’s representative expressed his desire to strengthen the partnership with Algeria by opening an office for MBC Algeria, as well as launching its subscriptions through the “Shahid” electronic platform, expressing in the same context, the complex’s desire to produce several news, cultural, and sports programs, as well as to produce films. And Algerian series, working with Algerian directors, actors and screenwriters.
According to him, this will require cooperation with several sectors: finance, trade and culture.
On the other hand, the Minister expressed his full readiness to contribute to the success of this initiative, whether by removing obstacles that might prolong this process or by presenting draft scenarios for Algerian films, especially historical ones, in coordination with the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders as well as the Ministry of Culture and Arts, stressing the state’s commitment. By facilitating the accreditation and operation of Saudi channels such as: MBC and Al Arabiya Al Hadath, in accordance with the Organic Media Law.
Finally, the Minister of Communications presented Ali Al-Huthaifi with a souvenir.
