10 people were killed and 470 others were injured in traffic accidents recorded in various areas during the last 48 hours, according to a tally by the Civil Protection Services, today, Saturday.
During the same period, the Civil Protection Services recorded the death of two people from carbon monoxide poisoning in Tipaza and Djelfa, in addition to providing first aid to 28 people who suffocated as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas emitted from various means of heating and water heaters inside their homes across several states of the country. They were taken care of on the spot before being transferred in stable condition to local hospital institutions.
Civil protection units intervened to extinguish 7 different urban fires in Algiers, Tipaza, M’Sila, Annaba and Ain Temouchent. These interventions enabled the fires to be controlled and prevented from spreading to other neighboring places.
Regarding the recent weather fluctuations, civil protection teams intervened to rescue 5 people in the state of Bouira who were trapped inside their car due to the accumulation of snow on the national road No. 30 in the municipality of tanks, in addition to rescuing other people who were trapped in the mud after the interruption of the state road No. 128 in the municipality of Termitin in the state of Tizi. Ouzou.
