The activities of the national workshops on preparing the national strategy for digital transformation were launched on Tuesday morning, under the slogan “Together for a participatory approach to effective digital transformation,” under the supervision of the High Prefecture for Digitization.

In her intervention, Minister Maryam Ben Miloud confirmed that “holding the national workshops for digital transformation on November 8, 9 and 14, 2023 is an important opportunity to expand the scope of consultation and exchange expertise and experiences with all actors in the field of digitization. These consultations also aim to address and talk about the most important obstacles and challenges.” Which faces the path of embodying digital transformation in our country, and enhancing common awareness in order to propose effective practical solutions to make this path successful by adopting effective practical outcomes.”

The Minister explained that these workshops: “fall into the core of the basic tasks of the High Prefecture for Digitization within the framework of design and preparation for preparing the national strategy for digital transformation with a participatory and consultative approach.” She stressed that this will only happen: “through the involvement of all actors in laying the foundations and foundations of digital transformation in Algeria.” .

By the way, the same speaker praised “the efforts made by agencies and sectors to facilitate the public services entrusted with their tasks, especially services directed to the citizen in order to facilitate some aspects of his daily life.”

The Minister added: “However, these efforts remain dispersed, unilateral, and unframed, in light of the absence of infrastructure to embody interconnection between sectoral information systems and ensure their security,” in addition to “the absence of a clearly defined national strategy with a plan to be implemented in the short and medium term,” as well as The absence of the Digitization Law, which is the regulatory framework that frames, regulates and controls the field of digitization.”

Hence the importance of these workshops, which the Minister stressed on their importance, saying that they are: “It is considered an important opportunity to expand the scope of consultation and exchange expertise and experiences with all actors in the field of digitization. These consultations also aim to address and talk about the most important obstacles and challenges facing the process of embodying digital transformation.” In our country and to enhance common awareness in order to propose effective practical solutions to make this path a success by adopting effective practical outcomes.”

She also explained the goal of digitization, saying, “Its ultimate goal lies in establishing a new model for the management of public and economic departments, bodies, and institutions by moving from classic paper-based management to existing digital governance, which is based primarily on the widespread use of modern digital technologies in order to enhance the principle of transparency and Strengthening the relationship between the administration and the citizen and facilitating transactions and administrative procedures by ensuring the provision of quality, safe and fast public services at the lowest cost.”

It is noteworthy that the national digital transformation workshops will continue on November 8, 9 and 14, 2023, and their activities will revolve around five (05) axes, which will be discussed by organizing fourteen (14) specialized workshops that include experts, academics, activists and actors in the field of digitization.
