The head of the Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating Corruption, Salima Masrati, is participating in the work of the resumed 14th session of the United Nations Convention against Corruption related to asset recovery and reviewing the extent of implementation of the provisions of the aforementioned agreement, which is scheduled from September 4 to 8 in the Austrian capital, Vienna, according to what was reported today, Sunday, in a statement. for the same body.
The same source stated that Masrati “will participate, accompanied by executives from the Higher Authority for Transparency and Prevention and Combating Corruption, from September 4 to 8, 2023 in Vienna, in the work of the resumed 14th session of the United Nations Convention against Corruption Implementation Review Team and in the work of the open-ended intergovernmental working group.” on asset recovery, as well as the open-ended meeting of intergovernmental experts to enhance international cooperation within the framework of the same agreement.
These meetings will discuss the review of the implementation of the agreement, as well as the performance of the implementation review mechanism and the follow-up to the extent of implementation of the results of the special session of the United Nations General Assembly on issues related to corruption and measures aimed at preventing and combating it, in addition to the efforts made by Algeria in strengthening international cooperation and commitment to the implementation of the agreement, especially the launch of The first national strategy to prevent and combat corruption 2023-2027, according to the same source.
