President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, yesterday, Thursday in Algiers, at the opening of the 31st edition of the Algerian Production Exhibition, praised the progress achieved by the mechanical industry in Algeria, calling for meeting local consumer needs for various products before heading towards export.
At the level of the military industry pavilions, the President of the Republic listened to a detailed presentation on the production capabilities of this industry, where he was briefed on some locally produced weapons, praising the development achieved by the military industry in Algeria.
At the same pavilion of the Ministry of National Defence, the President of the Republic confirmed that Algeria has exceeded 40 percent of integration in the field of mechanical industries.
At the Fiat Algeria pavilion, the President of the Republic praised the Algerian-Italian partnership, stressing the importance that the state attaches to mechanical industries and their contribution to the national industrial fabric.
In this regard, the President of the Republic said: “We are on the right path,” recalling “the great confidence in our Italian friends and partners.”
According to President Tebboune, the mechanical industry must “bring Algeria to the top in terms of industry,” explaining that the Algerian industrial fabric is developing thanks to “many local traders who have taken the initiative to invest in this field.”
During his visit to the pavilion of the Tosyali Mining Industries Complex, the President of the Republic followed a presentation on the development of the complex’s production path, where he mentioned the position of this dealer in the national industrial fabric, stressing “the interest that the state gives to this sector, especially with the launch of the process of exploiting the Gara Jbeilat mine.”
President Tebboune told the company representative, “With the launch of Gara Jbeilat, you will be able to increase the pace without the need to import, as you will reach 5 million tons, and perhaps more,” considering Tosyali a company fully integrated into the economy.
While standing at the “Condor” company’s pavilion, President Tebboune praised the efforts made by Algerian talent to increase the rate of integration in industry, as well as “the efforts of honest industrialists who adapted to the new national policy, which allowed for the economy of foreign currency.”
He continued by saying, “Export should not be at the expense of the country’s needs,” stressing at the same time the importance of relying on “reliable statistics” that help in “making the right decisions.”
In front of the representatives of the “Iris” company, the President of the Republic once again praised the achieved rates of integration, expressing his regret for the “obstacles” faced in the past by some Algerian industrialists, stressing that “he will not allow anyone to sabotage the Algerian industry.”
In his conversation with exhibitors representing the housing sector, the President of the Republic called for opening branches of the new National Housing Bank, especially in large cities that are witnessing an important movement in the field of real estate promotion.
He added, “We must move to large cities such as Oran, Annaba, Constantine, or Blida and open branches there, but we must not open them in places where there is no significant activity of real estate developers,” stressing “not to open them symbolically.”
For reference, President Tebboune was honored by exhibitors at an exhibition on African trade organized on this occasion.
