The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced, in a statement, the commencement, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, of displaying the retail prices of widely consumed agricultural materials, daily through the media, in order to inform citizens and consumers and inform them periodically and continuously of the prices of various basic materials of widespread consumption. .

The statement stated: “Within the framework of informing citizens and consumers and informing them periodically and continuously about the prices of various basic commodities of widespread consumption, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Commerce began, starting December 26, 2023, to prepare a unified daily bulletin on the retail prices of agricultural commodities.” Wide consumption. The same source explained that this bulletin, titled “Retail Price Display of Widely Consumed Agricultural Products,” is a table that includes the minimum and maximum price, as well as the national average (per kilogram), for a group of widely consumed products traded in retail markets.

The Ministry also confirmed that the price index, which concerns a list of twenty (20) agricultural products (fresh vegetables, fruits, and products of animal origin), will be announced daily in the written and visual media in order to inform public opinion.
